Pad your résumé and you’ll spend the whole job afraid of your own interview answers.

LEADERSHIP

WHAT THIS MEANS

An exaggeration on paper does not stay on paper. It follows you into the building, where every meeting carries a small chance of somebody asking you to do the thing you claimed. That low background dread is expensive and lasts far longer than the twenty minutes it took to write the line. You end up guarding a sentence for a year.

Write what you can actually demonstrate, then say plainly what you want to learn. Managers hire for the second more often than people expect. Walking in with no secret to protect beats the better title.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What claim about yourself would collapse under a follow-up question?
