What you do when nothing is being observed is not a verdict on your character. It is just the clearest information you get, because there is no audience shaping it and no version of you being performed. Late at night with a screen, the choices are made by whatever you actually want rather than whatever looks right. Knowing that is useful and not something to feel bad about.
