In a group project, everyone knows who did the work. The only one fooled is the name on the slide who didn’t.

LEADERSHIP

WHAT THIS MEANS

Group work is transparent to everyone inside it. Who wrote it, who fixed it, who showed up at eleven the night before to add a title slide, all of that is common knowledge among the people who did it. The only person operating under a different impression is whoever believes they got away with something. That belief does not survive the next project.

If you are carrying it, say so early and specifically rather than quietly resenting it. If you have been coasting, take a real section of the next one. Reputations in small groups reset slower than grades do.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

In your last group project, did your name match your effort?

Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
