A meaningful project should eventually become larger than your personal recognition.

While a project depends on your recognition, its ceiling is your reputation. Once it is genuinely about the thing itself, other people can carry it, and it can go places you personally cannot. That transition costs something real, because the credit gets diffuse, and it is what lets the work outgrow you.

Notice which decisions you make to be seen and which you would make anyway. If you would abandon something the moment your name came off it, that is worth knowing about what you are actually building.
