The weather app changes its forecast when new data comes in. You’re allowed to do that too.

Updating a prediction is not a sign the earlier one was foolish, it is what happens when more becomes known. Nobody accuses a forecast of being weak-willed. People hold themselves to a far stricter rule than they hold anything else to, where an earlier statement must be defended regardless of what arrived afterward. That is not a rule you ever agreed to.

Give yourself permission to say you thought one thing and now think another because of something specific. Name the new information, since that makes it visibly a revision rather than a mood. Doing it out loud once makes the next time considerably easier.
