Even a boring job gets interesting when you start asking how the whole place actually runs.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Tedium usually comes from seeing only your own small piece with no sense of what it connects to. The same hours become different once you can see the system around them: the supply arriving, the decisions made upstream, why the busy times are busy. The work did not change. The amount of it you can see did.

Spend a shift this week working out one thing about how the place functions that nobody explained to you. Where this comes from, who handles it next, what happens when it goes wrong. Ask whoever has been there longest, since they usually know and are rarely asked.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which boring task hides a system you have never traced?

Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
