Anything gets interesting the second you ask how to do it better.

Tedium usually means you are performing a task rather than working on it. The moment a question enters, the same job turns into a puzzle with feedback, and dull work becomes something you can be measurably better at by Friday. Dishwashing, stocking shelves, drills, paperwork. None of it is inherently interesting or inherently dull.
Try it on the most tedious thing in your week. Ask what better would even mean here, pick one measure, and chase it, whether that is faster, neater, fewer steps or less waste. The task will not change and the hour will feel completely different.
Could you make a dull chore interesting by improving it?
