Having an unproductive day doesn’t make you less of a person. It makes you a person.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Somewhere along the way, output got attached to worth, so a slow day starts to feel like a moral event rather than a Tuesday. People are not machines with an uptime figure. Rest, drift, and days where nothing happens are part of how a person works, and treating them as failures mostly adds guilt to tiredness without producing anything.
Next time it happens, try letting the day be what it was, without the commentary afterwards. You are allowed to have been tired. Then start the next one at a normal size rather than trying to make up for anything.
How harshly did you talk to yourself after a slow day?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
