A good laugh shrinks a problem back down to its real size.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Laughing does something reasoning cannot. A problem grows by being held too close and too seriously for too long, and a laugh breaks the grip for a second, which is long enough to see how big the thing actually is. Nothing about the situation changes. Your estimate of it corrects itself.
When something has been sitting on you all week, go find the friend who makes you laugh the ugly way. Not to dodge the problem, just to get a truer measurement of it. Look at it again afterwards and see whether the size moved.
When did a laugh last shrink your problem back to size?
