Not everyone can be the star, and a team full of stars loses to a team that knows its roles.

REFLECTION
A group of five people who all want the ball loses to five who know what they are for. Roles are a division of labour rather than a ranking, and the whole arrangement only works if somebody is willing to take the unglamorous half. Most groups come apart there, not on talent.
Work out what your team actually needs from you rather than what you would prefer to be doing, then do that job well enough that people would feel it if you stopped. Someone who plays their role properly gets invited back everywhere.
Which role does your group actually need you to play?
