When little is at stake, a lapse is cheap and easily corrected. As your position grows, the same lapse costs more, affects more people, and gets harder to walk back. The habits do not change with the stakes. Only the consequences do, which is why the quiet early period is the good time to sort this out.

Assume that whatever you are like now is what you will be like with more at stake. Fix the small thing you have been tolerating while it is still small.
