The years you’re struggling through right now are the ones you’ll tell your kids about. Give them a good ending.

The stretch you are in now is the one that turns into a story later, largely because easy years do not produce much worth telling. That does not make difficulty valuable in itself, and nobody should hand you a hard year and call it a gift. What it does mean is that you are currently deciding what kind of story this becomes.

You cannot control the events. You can control what you do inside them, so pick one thing you want to be able to say you did while it was still hard.
