Notice what you’d argue for with a total stranger. That’s a value, even if you’ve never named it.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Arguments you would have with a stranger tell you more than any list of values you could sit down and write. When something makes you speak up with no social reward available and no relationship at stake, you have found a thing you actually believe rather than a thing you agreed to. Most people have several and have never named one.
Think back to the last time you could not let something go. Put the principle underneath it into plain words. Then check whether your week reflects it anywhere at all.
What would you argue about with someone you just met?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
