Ask everyone at dinner what the best part of their day was. It changes what people look for tomorrow.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Knowing a question is coming changes what you notice all day. If someone is going to ask for the best part of your day, your brain starts collecting candidates around lunchtime without being told to. The question is doing the work, not the answer. It also gets people at a table talking about something other than what went wrong, which most tables badly need.
Ask it this week, at dinner or in the car or in a group chat. Expect it to be awkward the first two nights. By the fourth, people will arrive with something ready, which means they spent the day looking.
What was the best part of your day today?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
