Nobody else is rewatching that mistake on loop. They’ve got their own blooper reel running.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Everybody in that room is running their own reel, mostly of things they said two years ago. The audience you are bracing against is fully occupied with an identical job, which is why nobody has the spare capacity to maintain a file on you. Your loop feels significant because it is yours and it plays very loudly. From outside, it is one moment in a long week that nobody archived.

Test it with a friend: swap the thing each of you still cringes about, and notice that theirs sounds like nothing while yours sounds enormous. Same distortion, both directions. Saying it out loud usually takes the volume down for good.
