Your worst day doesn’t get to write your bio.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
One bad day takes up an outsized amount of memory because of how it felt, not because of how much of your life it actually occupied. Twenty-four hours out of thousands is not a summary of anybody. It can still be the first thing that arrives when you think about yourself, which is worth knowing, since the loudness of a memory is not a measure of its size.
Put the day back in sequence when it returns this week. What came before, what came after, what you did in the weeks that followed. You are not arguing that it was fine.
Which bad day still feels like your whole story?
