The person you envy is probably envying somebody else. It’s a whole chain. Step out of the line.

Comparison never resolves, because everybody in it is looking up at somebody. The person whose life looks settled from where you stand is measuring themselves against someone else entirely, and that continues without an end point. Nobody has ever reached the front of that line and felt finished, which tells you the position was never going to be the thing that helped.

Pick one area this week and stop keeping score in it. Measure it against your own last month instead. That is the only comparison where you know both sides properly.
