Fear gives great warnings and terrible directions. Hear it out, then take the wheel back.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Fear is an excellent alarm and a poor navigator. It is very good at telling you something matters, and completely unqualified to tell you what to do about it, because its only real suggestion is to stop. Listening to the warning is sensible. Handing over the steering is how the list of things you avoid quietly grows.

Next time it arrives, let it finish talking and write down what it is warning about. Then ask what you would do if the warning were just information. Usually there is a smaller version of the scary thing you can do today, and fear has no say in the size.
