Your free throw form at practice is the one that shows up in the final seconds. Nerves don’t invent new habits.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Pressure does not upgrade you, it reveals what was already installed. In the last seconds your attention narrows and your body reaches for whatever it has done most often, which is the version you built in an empty gym on a Tuesday. If that version was sloppy, sloppy is what arrives. Nothing new gets invented at the moment it matters.

Practice the way you want to perform, including the boring parts: the routine before the shot, the breath, the same setup every time. Do ten with full attention rather than fifty without. What you rehearse carelessly is what will turn up on its own.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What are you practicing sloppily that pressure will expose later?
