A filter can change how you look in a photo. It can’t change how you look at yourself.

CREATIVITY
The photo changes in a second. The feeling does not move at all, and that gap is the useful part, because it shows the feeling was never really coming from the photo. Whatever grades you inside your head will grade the edited version just as fast, using a standard it made up.
Notice what you say to yourself in the half second after you look. You do not owe anyone a particular face, and no edit was going to settle that argument anyway. If the voice has been loud lately, saying it out loud to one person you trust takes more out of it than another round of retakes.
What would you change if no camera existed?
