Everyone around you is running on a different clock. Nobody is late to a race they aren’t in.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Comparison assumes a shared start line and a shared finish, and there is neither. The people around you began in different places, with different amounts of help, aiming at different things, and their pace tells you nothing usable about yours. Being behind requires a race, and most of the races are imaginary.

Name whose clock you are actually checking yourself against. Usually it is two or three specific people and a rough idea of what everyone else is doing. Write down what you are genuinely trying to build, then measure against that, because it is the only race you entered.
