Plant a field every single year without a break and eventually it quits growing anything. Rest is part of the harvest.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Continuous output drains the thing that produces it, and the damage does not show up in the first year or the second. Yield keeps looking fine right up until it does not, because what is being used up is underneath. Rest is not a reward you earn after the work, it is one of the inputs.

Build a fallow stretch into your year on purpose rather than waiting for one to be forced on you. One weekend a month with nothing on it, one week where you are not improving at anything. Put it in the calendar before the calendar fills.
