Sometimes the most peaceful sentence you’ll ever say is “you might be right.”
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Some arguments are not about the facts at all, they are about who has to give in. You can burn an hour defending a small point to somebody who was never going to move, and even winning leaves you tired and no better off. Granting that they might be right costs almost nothing and takes the whole fight off the table.
Save it for disagreements that do not matter: a detail, a memory, the right route to take. That is not lying and it is not surrender, it is refusing to spend an evening on something that was never going to change.
Which argument would end today if you conceded the point?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
