Purpose becomes clearer when you stop asking only what you can receive.

A life organised around what you can get produces a permanently unfinished question, because the answer keeps moving. Asking instead what you can give changes the shape of the problem, and it turns out to be a much easier question to make progress on.
For one week, notice how often your first thought in a situation is about what you will get from it. Try replacing that question rather than suppressing it. The clarity comes from the different question, not from better answers to the old one.
What have you been asking to get rather than to give?
