The loudest complaints about your new boundary usually come from whoever was using the old gap.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
The person who objects loudest is usually the one who benefited most from you not having a limit. The old arrangement worked beautifully for them, and now it does not, so it gets described as you changing, being difficult, going cold. That framing is not an argument. It is the sound an arrangement makes when it ends.
Expect the reaction and do not read it as proof you got this wrong. Notice who is fine with the new version, because most people will be. If somebody cannot handle an ordinary limit at all, you have learned what that relationship was built on, which stings and is still worth knowing.
