The middle is where serious intentions separate themselves from temporary fascination.

The beginning of anything is carried by novelty, and the end by the visible finish. The middle has neither, and it is where you find out whether you wanted the thing or wanted the feeling of starting it. Nothing is pulling you forward there except the decision itself.

When you hit the middle and it goes flat, recognise the stage rather than reassessing the whole project. Reassessments made in the middle are almost always mood wearing the clothes of judgement.
