One bad grade shouts louder than a report card full of good ones. Don’t let the loud one run the meeting.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Bad news is louder by design, since your brain treats a threat as more urgent than a steady stretch of fine. So one low score takes over the whole page while the eight ordinary results next to it go silent. Volume is not the same as importance. The number that scares you is still one number in a long row.

Look at the full record before you decide what kind of student you are. If the low one is pointing at a real gap, fix that subject specifically, and let the rest of the row keep its seat.
