Your commute has at least one beautiful thing in it every day. You’ve just been looking at your phone during it.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Routine travel goes invisible fast and the phone finishes the job. It is not that the ride is empty, it is that you have never actually looked at it, and anything unseen may as well not be happening. The light at a certain hour, the same dog on the same corner, somebody’s garden. Small, unremarkable, and only available to a person who is looking up.

Spend one trip this week with the phone in your bag. Find one thing worth noticing and do not photograph it. Just see it and let that be the whole point.
