Changing your mind isn’t flip-flopping. It means you actually used it.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Holding a position no matter what gets mistaken for strength, when often it is a refusal to look at anything new. An opinion that never moves has never been tested. Revising one because better information turned up is the whole mechanism working properly, and the discomfort comes from a social rule about looking consistent rather than from anything to do with being right.
Say out loud this week that you have changed your mind about something, and say why. Low stakes are fine for a first attempt. It gets easier after that, and people tend to trust the next thing you say more, not less.
Have you changed your mind on anything important this year?
