Notice when you’re starving for attention. That hunger makes you order things you’d never pick on a full stomach.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Wanting to be noticed is ordinary, and it only becomes a problem when it turns urgent. Urgency makes poor choices look reasonable: the post you would not normally make, the group you do not really like, the joke at someone’s expense because it will get a laugh. None of those would tempt you on a day you felt seen. The state is doing the deciding, not the person.
When you feel that pull, name it before you act, even silently. Then give it an hour. Most of what seems necessary in that state looks skippable afterward.
Hungry for attention last week, what did you reach for?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
