Procrastination is usually a message. Sometimes it’s “I’m scared”; sometimes it’s “I don’t actually want this.”
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Delay carries information, though it arrives badly labeled. Two very different things wear the same disguise: fear of doing the task badly, and no real interest in the task at all. The first wants a smaller first step and some reassurance. The second wants an honest conversation about why you signed up, and pushing harder on the wrong diagnosis is why willpower keeps failing here.
Work out which one it is before the next attempt. If a guarantee of success would make you start gladly, it is fear. If a guarantee changes nothing, you have a different problem.
Behind the thing you keep postponing, is it fear or disinterest?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
