Time alone teaches you what you actually need versus what you’ve just gotten used to having.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Habit and need feel identical while you still have the thing. Remove the noise, the constant company, the background hum of messages, and the difference shows up within a couple of days: some of it you genuinely miss and some you simply stop noticing. That sorting cannot be done by thinking about it. It only appears when the thing is actually gone for a while.
Drop one thing for a week and pay attention around day three. If you still want it back afterward, take it back, now knowing it is a real preference rather than a groove you fell into.
Of your daily must-haves, which are needs and which are habit?
