Make art nobody will ever like, share or grade. It’s the only kind that’s fully yours.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

The second something has an audience, the audience starts making decisions inside it. You begin choosing what will land instead of what is true, usually without noticing the swap. Work made for nobody carries no such pressure, so it comes out stranger and closer to whatever you actually meant. It is also the only work where failing costs nothing at all.

Make one thing this week you have already decided not to show anyone. A page, a drawing, a voice memo of a song. Finish it badly, keep it somewhere private, and notice how different it feels to make.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What would you make if it were never seen or graded?
