Deep work looks boring from the outside. So does a seed underground.

The most useful hours are almost always unremarkable to watch. Somebody reading slowly, running the same passage again, staring at one problem for forty minutes. Nothing about that reads as progress from across the room, which is why people passing through mistake it for wasted time. The visible part arrives much later and looks like it came from nowhere.

Protect one long block this week and accept that it will feel unimpressive while it happens. Judge it by what you understand at the end, not by how it looked. Stop expecting the boring stretch to feel like anything but boring.
