Never fight on their home field if you can help it. Pull the game to where you’re strong.

LEADERSHIP
Every disagreement has a setting, and the setting decides half of it. Arguing in front of someone’s friends, in their group chat, over text where tone disappears, all of that hands them advantages before anyone says a word. Shifting the ground is not cheating. It is refusing to compete under conditions chosen by the other side.
If something needs sorting out, choose where and when rather than reacting on the spot. In person if you are better in person, in writing if you think more clearly there, and never in front of an audience who is enjoying it. Say you will talk later, then actually follow up.
Where could you move a hard conversation so you feel steadier?
