Hype is borrowed energy with a high interest rate. Real work doesn’t need it.

Excitement borrowed from a big moment feels like fuel, but it has to be repaid. The video that fires you up, the group that gets you hyped, the night you decide everything changes tomorrow, all of it fades and usually leaves you flatter than before. Work that runs on a plain, boring system never has that crash, because it was not running on a feeling.

Notice whether you are waiting to feel motivated before you start. Build something you can do at a four out of ten: short, specific, same time each day. Let the good days be a bonus rather than the requirement.
