A microwave gets you food fast. An oven gets you food people remember. Some plans need the oven.

LEADERSHIP

WHAT THIS MEANS

Speed and quality are usually a trade, and pretending otherwise just produces fast versions of things that needed time. Some results cannot be rushed, because the work happens during the waiting: the practice, the revision, the slow part where nothing visible improves. Choosing fast for those is not efficiency, it is choosing a smaller outcome on purpose.

Look at what you are hurrying and ask whether speed is what it needs. If it is a deadline, hurry. If it is a skill, a piece of work you care about or a friendship, give it the longer setting and stop checking whether it is done yet.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Would your plan turn out better if you gave it longer?
