Share the trailer, not the whole movie. People respect what they have to wait for.

Telling everything at once uses up the interest immediately. Once a person knows the whole story, there is nothing left to be curious about, and curiosity is most of what keeps attention alive. Holding some back is not manipulation, it is simply not emptying the entire bag in the first five minutes.

In your next conversation, answer the question you were asked and stop there. Let them ask the follow up rather than supplying it yourself. The same applies to what you are working on: show the piece that is ready and keep the rest for when it is.
