Your photos app shows you “ten years ago today.” Ten years from now, it’ll show today. Give it something good.

The memories feature only works because somebody took the pictures at the time, and at the time none of them looked significant. That is the whole mechanism: today is unremarkable while you are standing in it and becomes the throwback later. Nothing surfaces in ten years if nothing gets taken now.

Take a few photos this week of things that feel too ordinary to bother with. Your walk, your desk, the people you see daily and assume you always will. Future you gets only what present you captured, and the ordinary ones are the ones that land.
