When a teacher retires after thirty years, the real ceremony is in a thousand adults who still do things the way she taught them.

Influence shows up as behavior rather than as credit. A teacher who spent decades in one room ends up distributed across thousands of people who write a certain way, check their work a certain way, or speak up because somebody once told them they could. Most of them have forgotten where it came from, which is what teaching looks like when it worked.

Figure out which of your habits came from one specific person and tell them, if they are still reachable. If they are not, do the same thing for somebody younger.
