Scars are timestamps. Each one says, “I was there, and I got through it.”

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

A mark left behind is evidence, not a verdict. It does not mean the thing that caused it was good or deserved, only that there was a day, and the day ended with you still here. Most of what you carry works like that, including the parts nobody can see. The body keeps the record, and the record is mostly one of getting through.

Pick one of yours and remember it properly: how old you were, what it cost, who helped. Then notice who is doing the remembering. If something is still open rather than healed, that is worth saying out loud to somebody you trust.
