Cringe, mistakes and all, your teenage years are the rough draft every adult version of you gets built from.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
A draft is supposed to be bad, because that is what a draft is for. Everything embarrassing about who you were two years ago is proof you kept revising, and the people who never cringe are usually the ones who stopped changing early. You will feel this way about right now eventually, which is the system working rather than failing. The material you are producing today is what later versions get built from.
Go easy on the earlier version of yourself, who was working with far less information. Then keep drafting, which means trying the thing you might be bad at, in public, before you feel ready.
What cringey thing from this year is still teaching you something?
