Dependability is not glamorous because its success looks like everything simply worked.

When dependability works, nothing happens. No crisis, no rescue, no story to tell. That is why it goes unrewarded relative to dramatic intervention, and why some people are quietly holding things together while others get credit for fixing problems that better preparation would have prevented.

Make peace with the fact that doing this well means being less visible. Then look for who else is doing it around you and say so, since nobody else will.
