The GPS doesn’t get embarrassed when you miss a turn. It just says “rerouting.” Try that.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

A wrong turn costs you the extra distance, unless you add twenty minutes of being annoyed at yourself on top. The embarrassment is the expensive part and it does not improve the route. What helps is recalculating from where you actually are rather than from where you were meant to be. That is a skill rather than a mood.

Next time you get something wrong this week, try the flat version out loud: here is where I am, here is the next step. Skip the commentary about what it proves about you. Review it properly later, when reviewing can lead somewhere.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Could you just reroute instead of replaying that wrong turn?
