REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

The descriptions you repeat about yourself stop being observations and start working as instructions. Say you are terrible at speaking in front of people often enough and you will prepare less, stand differently, and produce the evidence. Nothing mystical there, the story simply decides what you attempt. Most of these lines were written when you were much younger and have never been reviewed since.

Catch one sentence you say about yourself automatically, the kind beginning with I always or I never. Ask when you decided it and whether it still holds. Then swap it for something narrower that leaves room, like: I have not practiced this much yet.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which line about yourself do you repeat until you obey it?
