You can walk away from an argument without losing it. Sometimes leaving is the win.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Staying in a fight until someone gives up is not the same as being right. Past a certain point nobody is listening anyway, and the goal quietly shifts from settling the thing to not being the one who stopped. Stepping out while you still sound like yourself protects something the last twenty minutes cannot.
Notice the moment a disagreement turns into a contest. Say that you need a minute and mean it, then come back later with the actual question. Leaving without a parting shot is the part that makes it work.
Could you leave an argument tonight without calling it a loss?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
