Sometimes “they changed” really means “I changed too.” Growing apart doesn’t need a villain.

Friendships end without anyone doing anything wrong more often than people admit. You picked up new interests, they picked up new ones, and the overlap that used to hold you together got thin. Blaming them keeps the story simple, but it also makes you the only one who stayed still, which is not true and not flattering.
If a friendship is fading, try describing it without a bad guy. Name what changed in you alongside what changed in them. Then decide whether you want to rebuild the overlap or let it be something you had for a while.
Which friendship drifted because you grew in a different direction?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
