The question you’re scared is dumb is usually the one half the room needed asked.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Confusion is rarely private. If the explanation skipped a step, it skipped it for everyone, and the reason nobody says so is that each person assumes they are the only one lost. That shared silence is what makes the room feel like it is following. Asking breaks it, and the relief on a few faces is usually visible.
Ask the next one you are tempted to swallow, in the plainest words you have. No apology in front of it and no pretending you are asking for a friend. Worst case you learn something, which was the point of being there.
Who else in the room needed the question you skipped?
