Become more prepared than the obstacle expected.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Obstacles are shaped by assumptions about what will stop the average person. The deadline is set for typical effort, the test is pitched at typical study, the competitor plans for a typical response. Preparation beyond that assumption is not heroic, it is simply arriving with more than the situation was designed to require. Much of what looks like talent from outside is this margin.

Think about what most people would do to get ready for the thing in front of you. Then add one layer they would skip. The extra layer is usually unglamorous, which is exactly why it is available.
