If you say “we” when it went well and “they” when it didn’t, the group already noticed.

Pronouns leak. Nobody is tracking your grammar on purpose, and yet everyone registers who claims the good week and who suddenly becomes a bystander in the bad one. It takes about three occasions for the pattern to be obvious, and once it is, your praise for the group counts for less, because people can see when you mean it.
Listen to yourself in the next debrief and keep the word the same in both directions. We missed it works even when the specific mistake was not yours. If it genuinely was somebody else’s, you can say so privately, which is a different conversation from the one in front of everyone.
Do you switch pronouns depending on how the project went?
